Jamming on the One

Taught to lust why can’t we love?
So many partners we can’t get enough
Hide all our feelings keep them inside
Show no emotion, have you already died
We nurture greed, indulgence and sex
When our family needs nurturing we always forget
Break their trust and heart as well
No regret for putting people through hell
I know who I can trust, knows whose faith will not rust
Know who gives me reason, gives me something to believe
I know who I really hold dear Those who fought to get me here
I Still believe in something, I was raised for more than nothing
For yourself but no one else
you destroy each other you destroy ourselves
Ignore those that truly care,
When they need us we are nowhere near
Taught to be apathetic, laugh at pain
Hurt the innocent and show no shame
Lie and cheat those that have faith
Leave our family in a desolate state

What's Inside
02:39
|

You wake up in another haze, as you wonder through an endless maze
Foreign sheets in a foreign bed, what the hell is going on in your head
a thousand excuses for all your behavior, as you take a swig from your holy savior
your body and mind are not built to be wrecked, your problems remain what did you expect?
You cant drink and drug away all of the pain,(till nothing remains) your soul is damaged your body cant retain
You stammer and slouch you don’t walk with pride,(whats inside) your body is weakened, just like your mind
Was it worth all this pain or hate, simply for the thrill of a lousy buzzed state?
You left your friends, brought shame on your family, you live in blindness I pray one day you will see
that your health has been shattered and your nerves are a mess, stop giving in, why do you accept less?
All our tempted with addiction but all don’t drink, all our presented with knowledge but all don’t think
On another search for salvation from a high, your heath is shattered and you wonder why?
our mind cant produce what it could in the past, the high that you first got well it didn’t last.

Last night I dreamt that I got in to a fight, things went too far so I went and pulled my knife
Blood on the pavement, blood on my hands, I am just a boy but I killed a man
Tried to run from my mind and flee, the police picked me up charged me in the first degree
Cause I am stuck in a 5 by 8 cell ask forgiveness with a yell, not dead but it's just as well
Now I sit here wondering what will happen to me for the crime I am guilty
The trial started and I wept and cried, yelled "judge don't take away my life"
Couldn't look my mom in the eye, the victim's family yelled "go to hell and die"
Two less kids going home today, one dead and the other might as well be
Now I awake in tears and sweat and realize my last day I have not met
It was all a dream but a lesson that life is precious and not worth messing

In 57 the church was on fire our leader is dead, he rose from the rubble went on the streets and led
Too many years, too many tears, Birmingham nineteen sixty-three is the year.
To Rally the troops rally in-groups, they say were not equal its time to force the truth
Segregated facilities, no voting ability, sometimes freedom isn't always free.
One fire you cant put out; one movement that will not die one promise that will not be broken. One dream that will be realized.
The hoses are coming the dogs are hunting, get your kids and start running
The jails are filling, the Klan is killing, but the movement will succeed god is willing
The white hoods are no longer coming, the segregationists are running, 40 years pass and their bravery is still stunning
Direct action, direct improvement "can outlaw an organization, but not a movement."

You walk in the bar, from your nice fancy car
Step right inside, no place for you with our kind
You take what is not yours, sexual assault on the dance floors
"you know you want this baby," you have no idea how to treat a lady
You think you own every girl in doors, treat them like paid for whores
You touch, you grope, and you feel, a young girls innocence you steal
You get em drunk, a slip in the drink, a slip up the skirt, what do you think?
You think you own this world I guess, turning girls lives into a mess
You lack all morality, which girl will you choose as your next casualty
A pretty face and a nice body, an excuse for your crimes on humanity
You picked pleasure over class, the next girl you touch may be your last
Cause your giving up the right, so watch your back when you walk at night

Ignorance
02:45
|
|||
Opinions based on falsehood and deception
Ignore the facts, no need for any education
You tow the party line, it makes me sick
Excuses come fast, answers not so quick
Its easy to see truth is not your aim, I would like to see you prove that ignorant claim
But its all coming down.
You protect your own leave us out to dry, act educated but just spew out lies And its all coming down.
You snicker and sneer turn away from me,
twist the truth so others think its ordinary
but I have done my homework, know my history
cant be blinded by your bias, the facts are clear to see.
Speak in tongues of ignorance, act like your views are heaven sent
Dishonesty, you have no excuse. you cloud their heads with half truths

American is not a curse word
Not an illness that cannot be cured
It is a culture full of different ethnicy
Yet you treat it like it's one political party
You say we are ignorant and greedy
Yet you love our clothes and popular t.v.
When you need help you cry out our name
When we try to help all we're the one to blame
My people - are not the one to blame
My culture - I will not be ashamed
You try to stop it - but I remain proud
You silence me - but I remain loud
And people die every day
Not every death is caused by the u.s.a.
You cheer every problem or miss
No fact, your thoughts are based on prejudice
The government has caused injustice, it's true
But are you being balanced what about you
You dont separate the people from the state
Say what you will, but you base your feeling on hate

Did I hear you straight, are you putting me down?
You can talk real tough when I am not around
Your words ring false and my words ring true
And I have got my self respect, what about you?
You're running straight into an end
Not thinking about any of the consequences
Your cynical about your place today
Instead of changing you put down my way
I reaffirm my strength, let my weakness dissolve
You can't control your addiction, where’s your resolve
I made my choice and I guess you made yours
Now we've both gotten exactly what we deserved

All We've Got

Even just a moment of listening to you is too long.
Your not convincing me, my heart and mind are too strong
Based on generalizations that should have been buried long ago
If your mind lies stagnant it can never grow
Even if its all I’ve got( Ive Got), I know that the truths enough
Even when you put us on the spot, I know that my conviction is enough
Just cause you hold a popular opinion of the day
Doesn’t justify it or give it anymore sway
Because your lies can be refuted again and again
If the truth is told, where will your views lie then
A thousand fabricated lies, a thousand times I will defy
Your views ring of hypocrisy, what ever happened to equality
You’ve said your piece now I’ll say mine, I think that you have passed the line
A race, a gender, culture or religion, none of these deserve your stigmatism

This is not a dream, that you can escape from
This is real life, but from reality you run
You might feel differently, but we reap what we sew
Ignorance is not bliss, but you don’t follow this though
What happened to your principles?
Don’t you realize that man is not invincible?
Will you ever wake up?
Irresponsibility does not equal love
You idiot, denying all responsibility
Can you see reason? Do you even have the ability?
You're just a sellout, no principles left to defend
I know sex sells, but it owns you my friend
Do you realize, all the mistakes that your making?
The lack of prevention that your taking
A human being, just a joke to the two of you
One thing is for sure you will never be a part of this crew

Action's being taken 'cos of this,
You fucked with us and now we're really pissed.
A hundred times you tried to shut us out,
But silence isn't golden, hear us shout.
(Chorus)
Can't you see we're just too fast,
Diehard youth we're made to last (x2)
Diehard youth we're coming

The minutes are ticking, the moment is near
we cant wait any longer the day of attrition is here
all hands are in, there's no turning away
our fears our infecting , but they wont break us this day
There will be no warning for what's in store, just take my back and I'll take yours
the battle is raging, but our bond is strong, cover the fallen and drive on
Even if were broken, we'll be broken as one
over the top we will rise like the beating blood red sun
whatever occurs to us, we drew a line in the sand
overcame our barriers, faced the curse, made our stand
